Cheryl  Shutts Lisenko, 63, of Camden NY, passed away on February 4, 2022 with her loving husband Robert Lisenko and devoted son Ryan by her side. Cheryl was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 23, 1958 to John and Doris (Rote) Shutts. She graduated from Taconic High School (1976) and from Westfield State College (1980) with degrees in Special Ed and Elementary Ed. She was united in marriage on November 10, 1984 to Robert and together they had one son, Ryan.  Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend. One of her great passions was keeping friends close; planning and organizing gatherings to share in their lives. She taught 32 years in the Camden Central School district where so many students benefited from her patience and kindness. Cheryl was predeceased by her father, John Shutts Sr. and godfather Paul Rote Jr. She is survived by her mother Doris Shutts, brothers John Shutts Jr. and Bruce Shutts (wife Linda), brother-in-law Dick Lisenko (wife Dawn), two special cousins who were like sisters to her - Kim Burke and Lori Morin, her loving aunt Pam Rote, and her nieces and nephews – Megan Mitz, Amanda Robertson, Jeffrey Shutts, Cindy Romeo and Kim Lisenko along with their spouses and children. In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. In lieu of flowers Cheryl would want you to spend time with the people you love, make amends with family and friends or donate in her memory to one of the organizations that she cared about: North Bay Fire Dept in Blossvale, NY or the Oneida Health Foundation Cancer Care in Oneida, NY. Cheryl was always overwhelmed with the wonderful care provided by her amazing nurses and doctors. Cheryl will always be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her thoughtfulness, her wit, and the joy that she brought to everyone around he r.
