Obituary for Edward "Eddie Elvis" Foster

Edward “Eddie Elvis” S. Foster, 63, of Rome, NY, formerly Williamstown, NY passed away May 8, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Hartford, NY after a brief illness. Ed was born January 13, 1959 in Manhattan, NY a son of Herbert & Thelma Graham Foster. He first came to the area as a Fresh Air child in the late 1960’s. He eventually moved to Williamstown, NY in 1975. Eddie always had a love for singing, entertaining and Elvis. He began performing as a young man singing with the APW jazz band, marching with the APW Rebels band, and later such venues as Trinity Coffee House, Vernon Downs Casino, The Turning Stone and Las Vegas among others. His brother even remembers him participating on The Gong Show and Star Search. He also worked as a party DJ doing weddings and other functions. Eddie also donated his time entertaining the elderly at senior housing centers. Eddie always had a great heart for those that needed a helping hand. Surviving are a sister, Denise Foster, Manhattan, NY, two brothers, Ronald & Cynthia Foster and Herbert Foster, all of Brooklyn, NY, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Eddie is also survived by his ‘adopted family’; Sally & John Hentze, Buffalo, NY, James & Faith Baker, Bertha Baker, Williamstown, NY, Eric & Virginia Baker, Lima, NY, Larry Baker, Columbus, OH, Cherie & Benjamin Tietjen, Williamstown, NY and Virginia & Stewart Brown, Parish, NY and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Arthur and his ‘adopted parent’s, James & Mary Baker. Graveside services will be held 11:00am Thursday at Fish Creek Landing Cemetery, Cook Rd, Blossvale, NY. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 -6 pm at LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc and/or The Fresh Air Fund.
