Fredrick R. ‘Fred’ Britton 71, of Camden, NY passed away May 6, 2022 at Oneida HealthCare Center. He was born in Syracuse, NY on April 3, 1951 a son of G. Grover & Faylene Balch Britton. Fred took his first job with the Camden Wire Co in 1969 and retired from it 24 years later in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was previously married to Carol Babcock. On December 30, 1995 he married the former Elaine M. Kirby in Taberg, NY. She passed away December 31, 2020. Surviving are his father, G. Grover Britton, a daughter, Paige & Todd Zender all of Williamstown, NY, a step son, David & Erin LaPlante, Camden, NY, a step daughter, Tammy Miller, Taberg, NY, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, three sisters, Belva Comins, Pulaski, NY, Cathy & Bruce Smith, Parish, NY and Teresa & Dale Reid, Lacona, NY, three brothers, Grover & Kathy Britton, Dunnellon, FL, Rick & Marcia Britton, Terry & Candy Britton all of Williamstown, NY and a very close family friend, Russell Scott along with several nieces & nephews. Beside his mother and wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Tyler LaPlante. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown, NY under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4- 6:00 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Tyler D. LaPlante Memorial Scholarship, 19 Third Street, Camden, NY and/or the Hastings- Gorski American Legion Post, Williamstown, NY.
