James M. ‘Jimmy’ Davenport 44, of Rome, NY passed away at his home unexpectedly on January 3, 2022. He was born Oct 3, 1977 in Oneida, NY a son of William & Bonnie Holmes Davenport and was a 1997 graduate of Camden High School. Jimmy’s first job was at the Top of the Hill Restaurant. Later, he worked for The Rome Sentinel, KFC and Denny’s among others. He enjoyed hunting and fishing while he was growing up and he always enjoyed his family, friends and playing his guitar. Surviving are his mother, Bonnie & Lowell ‘Bo’ Shapley, Blossvale, NY, a half-sister, Candy & Mike Pappas, Oregon, a half-brother, William & Penny Davenport, Mississippi, a step sister, Brittany & Aaron Jones, Camden, NY along with several very special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral arrangements under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY will be private. Interment will take place at McConnellsville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be directed the Rome Rescue Mission in Jimmy’s memory, in lieu of flowers.
