James M. Payne 68, of Camden, NY passed away at his home on Wednesday August 3, 2022. He was born August 27, 1953 in Goff, KS a son of Howard & Betty Coffelt Payne. He entered the U. S. Navy shortly after graduating from high school and retired from the Navy as Yeoman First Class in 1992. During his career he served aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier among others. Following retirement, he worked at Smith’s Diner and more recently, Hot Shot Catering. Jim was a member of the Arthur S. Moran American Legion Post # 66 and lifetime member Lt. Victor Giles VFW Post.

Surviving are two daughters, Brigette Countryman, Black River, NY and Mary Lynn

Brennan, Mechanicville, NY and their families, a sister, Susan L. Haley, Camden, NY, two brothers, David & Sandy Payne, Rome, NY, Joseph & Gail Payne, Camden, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Richard A. Payne, 1985 and Stephen L. Payne, 2001.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY will be private. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clear Path for Veteran’s Chittenango, NY.
