John I. Warren 75, of Blossvale, NY passed away Friday May 06, 2022 at his home. He was born in Oneida, NY on January 9, 1947 a son of Ira & Evelyn Ballou Warren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Thurston, whom he married on January 23, 1964. John worked as a supervisor for Oneida Limited for over 30 years prior to retirement. He also worked as a self-employed DJ and was known as “Big Bird”. John was a member of the Elks Club, the Owl Club and served as governor of the Oneida Moose Club. On Sept 19, 2014 he married Sherry Deeley. Surviving are his wife, Sherry are two daughters, Tammy & David Holdbrook, Blossvale, NY and Kim Linaberry, Higginsville, NY and a son, James Warren & Eric Bollenbacher, Syracuse, NY, his stepchildren, Joseph Sterling, Camden, NY, Jason & Lisa Sterling, North Bay, NY, Sarah Congden & Jimmy Dence, Blossvale, NY, Mina and Carol Congden, both of Camden, NY, three grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters, Lowana Davenport, Ithaca, NY, Joanne & Skip Friend, Oneida, NY and a brother, Tom Warren & Sharon Winn, Utica, NY, his dog, Snowball and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents and his first wife Linda, he was predeceased by a son, John Warren, Jr, three sisters, Mary Lou Brown, Sally Myers and Judy Huyck and a brother, Ira Warren. Calling Hours will be held Saturday May 14, 2022 from 2 -4 :00pm from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY with a Celebration of Life to held at the Sylvan Beach American Legion Post #1153 from 4:30- 7:30pm.
