Obituary for Luther Skinner

Luther L. Skinner 84, of Camden, NY passed away at his home on Monday December 13, 2021. He was born August 5, 1937 in Camden, NY a son of Luther & Mildred Miller Skinner. He married the love of his life, Dorothy LaRock on Oct 16, 1960 in Turin, NY at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Luther was a dairy farmer for most of his life operating the family farm on Howd Road. He also worked at Camden Wire Co for many years prior to retiring in 1996. Following retirement, he did custodial maintenance at the Camden Central Schools bus garage for a few years. He was always a ‘Jack of all trades’ handyman that ‘could build anything out of nothing’. He was strong in his Faith and his membership to the Camden Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed family times that included playing checkers, board games and puzzles. Surviving besides his wife of over 60 years Dorothy, are a daughter, Becki & Ted Chase, Camden, NY, two sons, Jamie & Debbie Skinner, Taberg, NY, Jeremy & Lisa Skinner, Camden, NY, five grandchildren, Jeremy, Jr., Nicole, Teddy, Jr., Jacob and Sullivan, four great grandchildren, Elijah James, Nathan Luther, Heidi Brooke and River Dorothy , three sisters, Evelyn Burke, Alice Hinkle, Janice Hilts, three brothers, Richard Skinner, Milt Skinner, David & Marcia Skinner and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Eunice Hicks. Calling hours will be held Monday from 1 -3 pm from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Graveside services will be held in the Spring at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
