Michael G. Lambie, 65, of Pulaski, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital from complications of Covid-19.
Mike was born on April 2, 1956, in Oneida, son of George & Julia Marie (Adams) Lambie and was a 1975 graduate of Camden High School. Mike received an Associate Degree from SUNY Morrisville and MVCC prior to enlisting in the US Navy in 1980. He served on the USS Billfish, a fast attack submarine, as a trained Nuclear Electrician with a specialty in Submarine Nuclear Propulsion. After serving for six years, Mike was honorably discharged in 1986 as Petty Officer First Class. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and began his career working for General Electric in Utica.
On May 27, 1988, he married Karen Millett in Transfiguration Church in Rome, a blessed union of 33 years.
In 1989, Mike moved to Pulaski and was employed by the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, currently Exelon in Oswego. In 1993, Michael started as an Operator with Sithe Energy, now known as Vistra, Oswego. He soon became the Warehouse Supervisor for the better part of his career until he retired in 2018. Mike loved his work family and always considered himself privileged to have been associated with such talented professionals.
Mike was an avid sportsman with a passion for nature and conservation. He loved the outdoors and cherished his family roots and property in Osceola. Having a great mind and entrepreneurial spirit, Mike held a number of patents and operated a small business. Mike was always eager to engage in conversations about an array of topics, indulge in local cuisine and enjoy ice-cold Utica Club beer.
A man of strong faith, Mike was a member of the Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Pulaski. Above all, Mike loved his family deeply and was especially proud of his children; their integrity, strong work ethic and the caring individuals they have become.
Surviving besides his wife, Karen, are his children; Patrick Lambie, Denver, CO and Kelly Lambie, Plymouth, England; mother, Julia (Marie) Lambie, Fayetteville; sister and brother-in-law, Christine Lambie-Smith and Chris Smith, Lacona; brother and best friend, Richmond Lambie, Oswego; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna Millett-Hans and Christopher Hans, New Hartford, and several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, including cousin, Brenda (Patsy) Prue who shared a close bond with Mike.
