Obituary for Rayemond Gage

Rayemond H. Gage, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday July 11, 2022. Ray was born March 28, 1942 to Arthur R. and Lois M. Clemens Gage at their Osceola, NY home. On August 1, 1981 Rayemond was united in marriage, to his wife of 40 years, Robin L. Hina on the banks of Fish Creek, Vienna NY Ray loved hunting, fishing and tying flies. He was proud of his small gun collection which will be passed on to his grandsons. He took pride in maintaining his yard and shoveling snow from the driveway in the winter. Faithfully measuring each snowfall throughout the season brought Ray great pleasure, and he often received inquiries about snow totals. Ray took great joy from spending time with his grandsons and especially enjoyed listening to Caleb’s fiddling and viewing Ethan’s art creations. Ray was a 1961 graduate from Waterville High School. Until the age of 19 Ray worked with his Dad on the family dairy farm. After 16 1/2 years, he retired from Hutchings Psych Center in 1978 where he had served as a cook. As a certified locksmith, he did local jobs for family and friends. Ray worked for several years at Will’s CackleBerry Castle. Perhaps his favorite job was operating the Sylvan Beach Amusement Park Fun House where he was fondly known as the Wig Man. Surviving besides his wife, Robin are a step-daughter Karlene & Brad Brazie, grandsons, Caleb Brazie & Tori Carey and Ethan Brazie, a bonus daughter, Mary & Ben Ellerd and their daughters, Lily and Roalee, his brother Paul Gage, and several nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his parents and his brother John Gage. Memorial services will be held 11:00am Saturday July 16, 2022 at Queen Village Bible Church, 10050 Wolcott Hill Rd, Camden, NY under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., A Celebration of Life will follow with a potluck picnic at 1:00pm at the Lady Slipper Pavilion at Forest Park, Camden, NY. All are welcome. Please bring a dish to pass. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Ray’s name may be made to The New York State Old Tyme Fiddlers Association, 1121 Comins Rd., Redfield, NY 13437 or Hospice & Palliative Care, New Hartford, NY, in lieu of flowers
