Obituary for Sally "Toepp" Ouderkirk

Sally T. Ouderkirk 73, of Rome, NY, formerly of the Camden and Northshore areas passed away Friday June 3, 2022 at the home of her daughter, with her loving family when she passed. She joined her husband Robert on his 80th Birthday in Heaven. Sally was born in Utica, NY on August 30, 1948 a daughter of Charles & Sally Russell Toepp and had lived in the Northshore and Camden areas for most of her life. She was a graduate of Camden High School. Sally held various jobs throughout her lifetime. Webb Lumber, Camden School District, Will’s Cackleberry Castle were just a few. She also designed, created and hand painted many business signs in the area. Sally was a member of St. John’s Church, Camden, NY, the Florence Historical Society and was a huge NY Yankees fan. She even wrote a book of self-penned poetry. On July 14, 1979 she married Robert C. Ouderkirk in St. Mary’s Church, Cleveland, NY. Bob passed away June 17, 2004. Surviving are their daughter, Robin Clifford & Jesse Cobb, Rome, NY, sister, Tracy & Ed Roehr, Wisconsin, Jenny (aka ‘Jeff’) & Craig Dignean, Constantia, NY, Becky & Ed Butts, Cleveland, NY, step daughters, Diane Popa and Deborah Vanderworken and their families and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Sally was predeceased by a sister, Holly & Pete Dahlberg. Sally’s capacity for forgiveness was unmatched. Her quick witty sense of humor always present. The family would like to thank Sharon & Rich Norton for their spiritual support and friendship, Shari Morinitti for her care giving, true compassion and years of friendship, and to all the nurses and support staff from VNA for your continued care throughout Sally’s courageous battle with MS. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Thursday from St. John’s Church, Camden, NY under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cleveland, NY.  Calling Hours will be held Wednesday from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. John’s Church, Camden, NY.
